Reuse «The Path to the Nest of Spiders»
Mister Tini, the owner of the house works in the textile and lets this passion occupy the whole house, as we saw during the first visit. We inspired from this character, we image to deal with a client engaged in textiles collection and in the art of artisanal «tessitura». The program will require a flat for a couple (the owners), an exhibition space, an atelier for artisanal «tessitura», some places for interns and guests.
We particularly appreciated the green surroundings and the split level structure of the house. We tried to profit of the actual organization to menage the different function, giving to each one at the same time independence and relationship of the program, I added some volumetry towards the garden on the east side.

The northern volume does not present relevant changes: for the atelier and for the interns' dwelling, just few chirurgical interventions were required. In the southern volume we chose to keep the roof carpentry in the living room and the chimney; which we consider to be the most carachterizing elements of the old house the main intervention concerns the realization of a patio; around which the owners' flat is organized. The patio also provides natural lighting to the exhibition space on the ground floor.

The textile pattern became a theme also for the treatment of the external surface which is made up of plaster. In fact, maintaining the old house material expression, we chose to provide thermical insulation through a superposed layer of mineral natural plaster, which has some per format thermical values.
